The Netherlands' Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIDO) claim he had declared he was an overseas tax resident whilst working and receiving an income in the country.
As a result, he has been accused of defrauding the authorities out of over €100,000 (£86,500).
It has also been alleged that Musampa previously had a property in Amsterdam repossessed amid years of tax issues.
The 48-year-old is currently working for former club Ajax, serving as the assistant manager of their Jong Ajax reserve side.

In a statement, a club spokesperson said: "We are aware of Kiki Musampa’s arrest, but think it is too early to react to it in detail."
Who is Kiki Musampa?
Musampa retired from professional football after leaving Willem II in 2009.
It brought to an end a career which saw him play for clubs in the Netherlands, France, Spain, England, Turkey and South Korea.
He will be most familiar to Premier League fans for his brief spell at City in 2005.
Musampa joined the club on a five-month loan deal from Atletico Madrid before scoring four goals in 45 appearance in all competitions.
Elsewhere, he picked up league titles in both his native Netherlands and in France with Bordeaux.
The winger also won the Champions League with Ajax in 1995 after coming through the club's famed academy.
However, he was not part of the matchday squad for their victory over AC Milan in the final.
