Conor McGregor batters sparring partner in latest training footage as comeback preparation continues

Conor McGregor looks to be firing on all cylinders ahead of his UFC comeback.
The Irishman hasn't competed inside the Octagon since suffering a leg break during his trilogy with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
He was set to end his lengthy hiatus last June at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler.
However, the 37-year-old withdrew from the contest with a broken toe and hasn't been re-booked since.
That appears to be about to change, though, as the former dual-weight world champion recently re-entered the UFC drug testing pool.
McGregor has already had discussions with Dana White about headlining the historic White House card next July and is ramping up his training in preparation for a return to MMA.
On Wednesday, McGregor took to Instagram to upload a video of himself sparring in Italy.
During the 10-second clip, McGregor backed up his sparring partner with a series of heavy body shots, and judging from his reaction, the 37-year-old was pleased with the work.
"Make the punches whistle," he wrote. "Strong to the body, light to the head...
"Mac, make the punches whistle... Long rangy dangerous motherf******."
McGregor's next opponent is yet to be confirmed, although Chandler remains the frontrunner at this stage due to the history between the pair.
If McGregor is to return on the White House card, then he will have to fight an American, and Chandler ticks that box.
But while 'Iron Mike' believes he will get the call to fight at the President's official residence, he doesn't expect McGregor to be standing across from him.
"That octagon at the White House lawn has my name on it," he told the Ariel Helwani Show.
"I've spoken to the UFC about it. They know I want to be on that card...
"I would love to fight against Conor. That's definitely a platform that would maybe get Conor on the straight and narrow...
"If you're a betting man, I wouldn't bet on it, but definitely bet the house on Chandler fighting on the White House card."
