Packers can hold firm at Lambeau
Thursday Night Football sees two playoff hopefuls collide as the Green Bay Packers host the Washington Commanders.
Jordan Love looked composed in Week 1, completing 73% of his passes and tossing two touchdowns in a 27-13 win over Detroit.
The Packers O-line gave him enough time in the pocket as the Lions didn't record a sack in the contest and only hit Love twice.
Meanwhile, Green Bay’s gruesome pass-rushing twosome of Rashan Gary and Micah Parsons combined for 2.5 of the Packers’ four sacks.
The Commanders’ defence was stout in a 21-6 win over the New York Giants, but Lambeau Field is a different beast and somewhere the Washington team have not won since 1988.
As a Dallas Cowboy last season, Parsons recorded 4.5 sacks in two games against Washington and could hold the key to flushing Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels out of the pocket.
With the Packers’ run game clicking, backing Green Bay at -3.5 looks a solid play.

Lions can tame the Bears again
Detroit host Chicago in a fiery NFC North clash on Sunday, and the Lions will be desperate to get their first win on the board.
The Lions won both meetings last season, although the game at Ford Field was a little too close to comfort as a late Bears comeback pulled them to within three.
Still, Dan Campbell has the better quarterback, running backs, tight end and defense at his disposal and his opposite number already knows how it feels to be a Bears coach after his side blew an 11-point fourth-quarter lead against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.
Detroit covered the spread in five of their eight home games last year and their average margin of victory in their last four wins over Chicago was 14 points.
Eagles to edge Super Bowl rematch
Sunday’s marquee matchup sees the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Arrowhead Stadium to face the Kansas City Chiefs.
The reigning champions survived a scare against the Cowboys in a coin-flip of a game that went their way thanks in part to dropped passes by Dallas wideout CeeDee Lamb and a Miles Sanders fumble at Philadelphia’s 11-yard line.
Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley had quiet games by their standards but they look fundamentally like the same team that shot to glory on the back of a strong running game last year.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, are not quite ready to press the panic button after their wide receiver room thinned out again in a 27-21 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil.
Xavier Worthy injured his shoulder on Kansas City’s first series and now joins Rashee Rice (suspended the first six weeks) and rookie Jalen Royals (knee tendonitis) on the sidelines.
Andy Reid’s men lost their opening game two years ago and still went 11-6, but Patrick Mahomes is going to have to work miracles with an aging Travis Kelce if they are to avoid dropping to 0-2 on Sunday.
