Nottingham Forest have finally announced the appointment of ex-Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar as their new Global Head of Football.
The 47-year-old resigned from his role in north London in November after more than five years back working at the club.
Edu, who won two Premier League titles with the Gunners, had long been suspected to make the Forest before the news was officially confirmed on Monday.
Discussing his new role, Edu said: "I’m truly excited about this new chapter and honoured by the trust placed in me.
"This project connects deeply with my values around innovation and long-term planning.
"I look forward to building a global football model that is competitive, sustainable, and aligned with our President’s ambition.”
Sticky Toffee pudding
Everton have announced fan favourite Idrissa Gana Gueye has penned a new deal at the club after becoming a free agent.
With the 35-year-old's contract set to expire, the Toffees posted in May a graphic of the midfielder's tackles during his time at the club in the Premier League, where he has regularly finished in the top three of all players.
They captioned it, 'Nobody did it better than Idrissa,' with the club now replying to their own message by stating, 'Correction: does*'.
Fans were loving the tease as one X user said: "Well played, admin. Well played."
Another quipped: "You absolutely filthy teases."
Everton then confirmed that Gueye has signed a one-year deal in Merseyside, with the option of a further 12 month stay.
Gueye, who spent three years at Goodison Park from between 2016-2019, returned in 2022.
Across both his spells at the club, he has appeared in 211 matches in all competitions.
Osimhen latest
Victor Osimhen has been one of the major topics of the summer market so far, with many teams interested.
Man United and Chelsea have been linked in the past, but the two Premier League giants haven't made a move this window.
talkSPORT understands that his wages and overall fit with the clubs meant that they didn't try negotiating a potential move.
Galatasaray and Al Hilal remain interested though.
The Turkish side had the Nigerian on loan last season, but they haven't bid anything close to his £75million release clause.
Hilal are set to trigger that clause in his Napoli deal, however, they haven't received the green light from Osimhen yet.
Championship deals
talkSPORT understands that Norwich are close to completing the signing of Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden.
The Canaries will bring in the striker, who scored 23 goals in 38 games last season, for an initial fee of £6.9million.
The deal will include a sell-on clause for Brondby.
Elsewhere in the Championship, it's understood that Othmane Maamma is set to join Watford from Montpellier.
Maamma will sign a four-year contract at Vicarage Road.
The 19-year-old, who played 14 times in Ligue 1 last campaign, has been given permission to undergo a medical.
A new Page
Leicester City starlet Louis Page is reported to have turned down an offer of a professional deal at the club.
Page won the Foxes' Academy Player of the Year last season and the 16-year-old made his first-team debut at the weekend.
He netted twice in a win over Peterborough and his star performance provided Leicester fans with a rare piece of excitement.
It's been a dismal few months for supporters after relegation from the Premier League and the club's ongoing PSR troubles.
But that excitement may prove to be short-lived, as they may not get to see much more of Page after he rejected a pro deal.
According to Football Insider, Page's decision has now alerted interest from clubs in Germany and Italy due to the fact that he will be available with minimal compensation.
'Over the moon'
Ola Aina has signed a new four-year contract at Nottingham Forest.
The right-back started 35 of Forest's 38 Premier League games last season, helping them qualify for European football.
He joined the club from Torino two years ago.
On extending his contract, Aina said: “I’m over the moon, I can’t wait to continue this journey with the Club.
"It’s always felt like a home ever since I joined and I’m happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing for the new season well and getting back to hard work.”
Owner, Evangelos Marinakis said: “Ola has skill, determination and character in abundance. He epitomises the culture and hard work we expect from everyone associated with Forest.
"He has had a big influence since his arrival here and we look forward to continuing that journey together to help us achieve incredible things.”
Mates in Miami
talkSPORT understands that Inter Miami are in talks with Atlético Madrid to sign Rodrigo de Paul.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder is open to the move, but £17.2million asking price makes any deal difficult.
Inter Miami also currently have their three Designated Player slots filled, so they would have to free up space.
Each team in the MLS cannot have more than three Designated Players whose salary exceeds the league's maximum cap.
Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets are Miami's trio that currently have their wages considered outside the cap.
Brazilian side Flamengo are also interested in De Paul.
Both clubs will have some prize money from competing in the Club World Cup to put towards the transfer.
De Paul could team up with Messi, with the pair good friends and the former labelled as the icon's 'bodyguard' on the pitch.
'Thank you for everything'
Callum Wilson has left Newcastle after five years at the club.
Wilson's contract expired at the end of last season and it's now been made official that he won't be signing a new deal.
"It's time to say goodbye after an unbelievable few years in the Toon," Wilson said in a statement on Newcastle's website.
"Thank you for everything. We stood strong together through the highs and some lows to help the club experience new heights.
"I am so proud to have worn the iconic number 9 shirt and to have added a little more history to it. Scoring at the Gallowgate End really is as special as they say.
"All good things come to an end but there's no doubt Newcastle United will always have a place in mine and my families hearts.
"Thank you for the memories."
Gyokeres latest
talkSPORT's chief football correspondent Alex Crook has given an update on Viktor Gyokeres' ongoing situation.
"Gyokeres is moving towards a positive step to joining Arsenal," Crook said on talkSPORT this morning.
"We reported in the middle of June that he'd told his inner circle that he expected to be an Arsenal player.
"No fee is agreed yet, we know Sporting are holding out for something around 80 million euros.
"I think Arsenal are trying to get it done for slightly less than that.
"Gyokeres has verbally agreed a five-year contract and this is the one signing that Arsenal fans want."
Contenders
Chris Wilder is one of a number of candidates for the managerial vacancy at Leicester, talkSPORT understands.
Wilder has held talks with the Foxes, who are looking for a replacement for Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Former Wolves and Bournemouth boss Gary O'Neil also has admirers among the Leicester hierarchy, but that appointment looks less likely at this stage.
Wilder was sacked by Sheffield United after their Championship play-off final defeat to Sunderland.
He would reunite with Hamza Choudhury should he be appointed, with Choudhury playing for him during his stints at the Blades and Watford.
Leicester director of football John Rudkin has also met with Sean Dyche, while Danny Rohl would be a candidate depending on the outcome of his contract termination discussions with Sheffield Wednesday.
'A massive upgrade'
European football expert Andy Brassell believes summer signing Martin Zubimendi is a great fit for Arsenal.
Zubimendi officially joined the Gunners yesterday and Brassell gave a glowing review of him on talkSPORT this morning.
"He's just a massive upgrade on what they've got," he said.
"Obviously, Arsenal fans have been a bit twitchy as this has been long expected to happen, but it wasn't actually over the line.
"So, I think this is a real positive for Arsenal now that it is.
"Zubimendi is so much more suited to what they want, someone whose a defensive midfielder but has a nimbleness to him.
"He has the craft, the ability to bring the ball up the pitch at a decent speed and help them transition.
"For a team with the forward players like Arsenal and who they could have by the beginning of next season, it's an entirely positive thing."
In talks
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has held fresh talks with Newcastle, talkSPORT understands.
Calvert-Lewin is available on a free transfer after leaving Everton following a nine-year spell at the club.
Magpies boss Eddie Howe is a long-term admirer of the striker.
The 28-year-old had interest from newly-promoted Leeds United last month, as they spoke to him regarding terms.
But his wage demands led to Leeds walking away from talks.
It is understood that Calvert-Lewin is keen to join a club that will give him the opportunity to play European football.
And Newcastle would give him that chance.
No chance
Tottenham's bid for Mohammed Kudus included add-ons that only kicked in if they won the Champions League or Premier League, talkSPORT understands.
West Ham have told Spurs to come back with a more realistic proposal, which guarantees them at least £60million.
Kudus has made it clear he wants to make the move from East to North London this summer.
But the Hammers are hoping for a rival offer from Chelsea.
Done deal
Fenerbahce have confirmed the signing of Jhon Duran on a season-long loan deal from Al Nassr.
The Colombia international only made the move to Saudi Arabia in a £65million deal from Aston Villa in January.
But he is already back in Europe having struggled to settle in the Gulf nation.
That is despite banging in 12 goals in 18 games for Al Nassr in all competitions.
Announcing the signing, Fenerbahce said in a statement: "We have reached an agreement with Al Nassr FC and Jhon Duran for the player to join our squad on a one-year loan deal.
"We wish him a successful season in our yellow and navy colours."
Walking on sunshine
Burnley have completed the shock signing of Kyle Walker from Manchester City, talkSPORT understands.
The six-time Premier League champion joins the Clarets in a surprise £5million move.
Walker has penned a two-year deal with the newly-promoted side as he departs the Etihad Stadium following an eight-year spell.
"I'm delighted to be here," said an excited Walker.
"When I spoke to Scott and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at. He's done an amazing job here, guiding the Club back to the Premier League with a 100-point haul, and now we're looking forward, together, at being back in the greatest league in the world.
"Burnley had a tremendous campaign last season, built on an incredible defensive record, and I can't wait to come in and add my experience and quality to what looks an exciting squad."
Sticky Toffee pudding
Manchester United are weighing up a move to sign free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The 28-year-old is available on a free transfer after he departed Everton following the expiration of his contract.
United look set for a major overhaul of their forward line this summer, as they look to offload a number of attackers.
Head coach Ruben Amorim has identified five current players who he is happy to see move on, with Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Antony all in the firing line.
Having already snapped up Wolves striker Matheus Cunha for £62.5million and bid the same figure for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, the Red Devils must balance their books as they look to rebuild their attack.
Calvert-Lewin could be a good way to juggle the club's finances and boost their forward options.

Lew beauty
Wrexham have agreed a club-record deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien.
The Hollywood-owned outfit are looking to strengthen ahead of their first season back in the second tier since the 1981/82 season, as they target a stunning fourth consecutive promotion.
After being purchased by A-list actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney back in November 2020, the Welsh side have enjoyed a meteoric rise through the divisions.
Promotion from League One in April marked the Robins' third straight promotion, who now sit just one division below the Premier League, despite playing in the National League as recently as 2023.
And they now look set to make their latest statement of intent by moving to sign a player of top-flight calibre.
The Championship new boys have reportedly agreed a deal worth up to £5million for Forest's O'Brien, according to The Sun.
Nwan and only
Ethan Nwaneri is reluctant to sign a new deal at Arsenal without guaranteed playing time, talkSPORT understands.
Nwaneri is in the final year of his Gunners contract and has interest from several top European clubs.
The England Under-21 forward, who is the youngest player in Premier League history, scored four goals in 26 league appearances in the 2024/25 season.
Only 11 of those 26 league encounters saw him start, with the 18-year-old battling the likes of Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard for a starting spot.
As well as several top clubs on the continent, Chelsea are also said to be monitoring Nwaneri's situation.
Vik 'N' Mix
Viktor Gyokeres is closing in on becoming an Arsenal player, talkSPORT understands.
Talks over a move to north London continue to advance, but no agreement has been struck yet, but the two clubs are close.

The club's president, Frederico Varandas, rejected reports that Gyokeres had such an agreement to leave.
Gyok won
Viktor Gyokeres' camp is confident he will complete a move to Arsenal this summer, talkSPORT understands.
talkSPORT reported in June that Gyokeres had decided to join the Gunners this summer and will not return to Sporting.
Talks over a move to north London have advanced, but no agreement has been struck yet.
The 27-year-old is due back for pre-season training at Sporting on Monday and could make good on his promise to go on strike to force a move away from Portugal.

Mikel Arteta's side have been crying out for a proven number nine in the last three seasons, which has seen Arsenal finish in second spot on each occasion.
No player for Arsenal in the recent campaign managed to hit double digits in the top-flight, with the north Londoners scoring 17 goals less than champions Liverpool.
The 2024/25 season saw Gyokeres bang in 54 goals in 52 games in all competitions - bringing his Sporting tally to 97 strikes from 102 outings across two terms in Portugal.
Zubi Dubi Doo - Got some work to do now
Arsenal have finally announced the signing of Martin Zubimendi.
Zubimendi has officially penned a long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium after verbally agreeing personal terms in May.
The Gunners have paid over the Spaniard's £50million Real Sociedad release clause to bring the midfielder in.
Zubimendi will wear the No.36 shirt at Arsenal, which was worn by goalkeeper Tommy Setford last season.
The 26-year-old told the club's website: “This is a huge moment in my career. It's the move I was looking for and one I wanted to make.
“As soon as you set foot here, you realise how big this club and this team are.
“I set my sights on Arsenal because their style of play is a good fit for me. They have shown their potential recently and the best is yet to come.”
Mikel Arteta added: “Martin is a player who will bring a huge amount of quality and football intelligence to our team. He will fit in really well and he has all the attributes to be a key player for us.
“The standard he has consistently performed at over the last few seasons for both club and country is exactly why we are so excited to have him with us. We all welcome Martin and his family to the club.”
Dor open
Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has revealed he wants to keep Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka at the club.
The 21-year-old joined Dortmund on loan in February and made 16 appearances last season, scoring once.
Chukwuemeka was also part of Dortmund's Club World Cup squad, with Chelsea extending his loan to cover the knockout stage.
With Dortmund losing in the quarter-finals to Real Madrid on Saturday, Chukwuemeka's loan has now come to an end, but Kehl believes it might not be the last time he turns out in black and yellow.
"Carney’s loan ends today," said Kehl, speaking on Saturday following Dortmund’s 3-2 defeat to Real in New Jersey.
"That was what we agreed with Chelsea. Now, let’s see. We will definitely have some more discussions in the next few days about his situation. I think it was a good move from Carney to join us.
"Now let's see how we manage everything. It won't be easy, but for sure we will try to keep him because he's a very good player. This topic is something for the future, and right now I don’t know what will happen."
Chelsea value Chukwuemeka at £40m, the same number as his release clause. That makes a permanent transfer difficult for Dortmund unless the asking price drops.
talkSPORT understands Dortmund are open to another loan, potentially with an option or obligation to buy, and that discussions on keeping Chukwuemeka beyond last season started in May.
"It's always easier to loan a player than to buy one, especially within Carney’s [price] range. But let's see," said Kehl. "We are not that far advanced [in talks] at the moment, but I can tell you that we are pretty close to the player, and he loves Dortmund, so this is quite good. Everything else will be decided between Chelsea and us. That won't be tomorrow. That won't be on Tuesday. I think it will take some more days."
Trent's tributes
Trent Alexander-Arnold paid tribute to Diogo Jota as he opened up for the first time on his former teammate's death.
He spoke after Real Madrid had booked their place in the Club World Cup semi-final.
An emotional Trent said: "I genuinely can't believe what's happened, I'm heartbroken, if I'm honest, I'm heartbroken, he was amazing, honestly amazing, on and off the pitch, a true gentleman in every sense of the word."
