Lukasz Fabianski has re-joined West Ham just three months after being allowed to leave for nothing.
The vastly experienced Pole saw his contract expire on June 30 without a new offer from the Hammers after 216 appearances in their colours.
Yet seemingly without an offer from elsewhere throughout the summer transfer window, he's now opted to return.
“I’m really, really, really happy to be back because this Club obviously means a lot for me and the people at this Club as well," he said.
"Seeing them again, it felt nice and beautiful.
“I’m here to support, to keep the standards high. I have huge experience as well, so I think it can be useful.
"For sure, I’ll continue to work the way I’ve always been doing, which is always hopefully at a good level but, at the same time, I understand that my role is completely different.”
West Ham signed Mads Hermansen from Leicester as their new No.1 in the summer, and they also have Alphonse Areola as another option in goal.
Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri has been sent a message by Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy.
The Thai businessman remains in charge of the Championship side despite their financial struggles and multiple transfer embargoes.
Yet despite the pressure from the football association, /is yet to sell, and Nandy has reminded him that regulator is on the way which could have the power to remove him.
She said at a Culture, Media and Sport committee: "If necessary, the football regulator can intervene in order to remove an owner who is threatening the future of the club.
"And I would say, in relation to Sheffield Wednesday, the Government's view is very strongly that football club owners are custodians of those clubs, and they have a responsibility to hand them on in better shape to the next owner and to the next generation of fans.
"In Sheffield Wednesday's case, I am really extremely concerned about the current ownership and the lack of willingness to sell the club and invest in the club, something I've been discussing very closely with local MPs.
"The Government is keeping a very close eye on it and our message to those owners is that change is coming."
Bournemouth midfielder Romain Faivre is joining Saudi Arabian side Al-Taawoun FC on loan, talkSPORT understands.
The deal includes an option to buy the Frenchman at €10million (£8.6m).
The Saudi Pro League transfer window doesn't close until September 23, allowing the Cherries to send Faivre out on loan.
The 27-year-old joined Bournemouth from Lyon in January 2023 for €15m.
He spent the remainder of that campaign on loan at Lorient, and was again shipped out to Brest for the 2024/25 season, scoring three goals in 29 games.
UEFA have confirmed that Rangers have been fined 20,000 Euros and banned from selling away tickets for their next European game.
The decision comes after Gers supporters in the away end of their Champions League play-off against Club Brugge, lit and threw fireworks.
Rangers were thrashed 9-1 on aggregate in that match on aggregate, and lost that specific game 6-0.
However, it is a suspended sentence of two years.
In a statement, UEFA said: "The CEDB has decided: To fine Rangers FC €20,000 and to ban Rangers FC from selling tickets to its away supporters for the next one (1) UEFA competition match, for lighting of fireworks. Said ban from selling tickets to its away supporters is suspended during a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision."
Speaking to talkSPORT after getting off the training ground, Hudson-Odoi said: "After that session, I was like, 'yeah, that was a session' I can't even lie to you.
"For us, it's like building that relationship with him early and getting ideas.
"When the manager comes in, you have to make sure that you get that done quickly because games happen fast and there's one coming on Saturday.
"So for us, it's just making sure we're ready, we're prepared and make sure that everyone is knowing what he wants us to do and hopefully apply it in the game."
He added: "It was a session. It was a session, I'll be honest.
"But it was good. I think for us, you'd rather wait and see what happens than to be asking so many questions.
"Everyone has different opinions, so I'd rather just wait and see myself and judge it for myself."
The third most expensive footballer in history has returned to Merseyside having been away with Sweden during the international break.
Having sat out Newcastle's start to the season force through a move, he played his first minutes of the season, just 18 of them, in a damaging 2-0 defeat to Kosovo.
Isak was previously at the club's training ground to complete his deadline day signing, but is now getting down to work.
He could well feature in this weekend's trip to Burnley on Saturday.
The striker was one of 17 Reds players to be called away on international duty, while seven more joined up with underage levels.
Also present at training was Jeremie Frimpong, who didn't meet up with the Netherlands due to an injury.
Fellow first team regulars Joe Gomez and Federico Chiesa were pictured too, having not been called up by their countries.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has paid tribute to Nuno Espirito Santo in an interview with talkSPORT.
The England winger, who's enjoyed the best form of his career since moving to the City Ground, made those steps up under Santo.
The Portuguese was sacked late Monday night, and Hudson Odoi has now paid tribute.
"With me and him, it was very close," he said.
"We had a good bond and we spoke about everything in every situation, whether it was on the pitch or off the pitch.
"He was just trying to get to know me more and I was trying to understand him as well as a coach.
"I understand what his ideas were and everything like that. So we definitely had a good bond. For myself, it improved me a lot.
"It matured my game a lot and made me understand a lot more about the game and knowing what to do to try and be better in positions when we're getting close to the goal and defending."
Nevertheless, Hudson-Odoi is excited to get started under new manager Ange Postecoglou.
He continued: "He had a massive impact on me. I think that it was a sad day to see what happened, but at the end of the day, I'm excited for the new chapter as well.
"I'm wishing for nothing but the best for the future."
Nottingham Forest have announced four new coaching appointments to assist Ange Postecoglou this season.
The Australian was a rapid appointment at the City Ground following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo just days ago.
Postecoglou arrives as a Europa League winner with Tottenham last season, and as such, has been allowed to bring back his whole coaching team.
Countryman and former Crystal Palace regular Mile Jedinak has been named assistant coach, while Nick Montgomery and Sergio Raimundo also take the same title from their time at Spurs.
The same can be said for Rob Burch who will continue as his goalkeeping coach.
Newcastle's Nick Woltemade has been defended after he was booed by Germany fans in a 3-1 win over Northern Ireland.
The £69million signing from Stuttgart assisted Serge Gnabry's seventh minute opener but otherwise had a quiet evening up until his 61st minute substitution.
His removal was met by some boos and whistles, and he was later defended by teammates post-match.
45-time German international Marcell Jansen has since given his take, having been live at the Rhein Energie stadium in Cologne to witness the response.
"That was a moment when I have to say I was ashamed in the stadium when he was booed," he said.
"The boy played for Bremen, came to Stuttgart on a free transfer, delivered a sensational performance in the U21 team, he's one of us.
"And because they're getting 90million [euros] for a player and then overpaying him… the boy can't help it."
Chelsea legend John Terry has spoken to talkSPORT's Ian Abrahams about his former club and manager Jose Mourinho.
The Blues haven't won the Premier League since 2018, a year after Terry left, but expectations are high that they could challenge recent winners Liverpool and Manchester City.
Giving his take, Terry said: "I think we always go for it and any big club has to have that as their mindset at the start of the season.
"In terms of Enzo Maresca saying that [they'll compete] there are teams with more experience so we'll quietly sit below those boys and keep putting in performances.
"We've had a good start to the season with seven points out of nine.
"I think it will be tough for us to go and win it this year, we have a really good young exciting squad, are we ready now? I'm not sure. And you don't want to put too much pressure on these young lads.
"The expectation is on Liverpool and Man City and the guys that have been there and done it and we can quietly sit there behind and do our thing."
Terry was then asked about a Premier League return for his former manager Mourinho who was recently sacked by Fenerbahce and then tentatively linked to the Nottingham Forest job.
"I hope he comes back, we all love him so we'd love to see him back one day," he commented.
Bayern Munich honorary president UIi Hoeness has clarified his controversial comments about Chelsea loanee Nicolas Jackson.
The 73-year-old was a guest on Sport1's morning show on Saturday and made a string of headline comments, including about their deadline day signing.
Hoeness first claimed the reported €16.5m loan fee is actually €13.5m due to agent fees, and then made a bold claim about Jackson's future.
"There will definitely not be a permanent contract," he commented. "That only happens if he plays 40 games from the start. He will never do that."
That was taken as a perceived dig at the new signing, but Hoeness has now hit back.
He said: "Everything I said was very helpful to him. Everything I said was meant to help him.
"What really annoyed me was how stupid some journalists are.
They're now interpreting my statements about Jackson as if I had something against him. They weren't paying attention in maths.
"He can't possibly play these 40 games. That's all I said. I wanted to help Max [Eberl, sporting director] with that because they accused him of allowing this option."
Omar Marmoush will be unavailable for this weekend's Manchester derby due to an injury picked up while playing for Egypt.
The City forward has been diagnosed with a bruised knee ligament, an ailment that typically takes up to a month to heal.
Confirming the prognosis, the Egyptian FA said: "Dr. Mohamed Abou El-Ela, the doctor of Egypt’s national football team, confirmed that Omar Marmoush sustained a knee ligament bruise during today’s match against Burkina Faso in the eighth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
"The player will undergo scans upon his arrival in Cairo on Wednesday morning."
City have since added a statement of their own, saying: "Initial results on a scan performed in Egypt indicate he will not be available for the Manchester derby on Sunday, and he will now return to Manchester for more assessment and to begin his rehabilitation."
The incident occurred just four minutes into Egypt's 0-0 World Cup qualifier with Burkina Faso but it was a further five minutes until Marmoush was taken off.
City host United at 16:30pm on Sunday with their rivals a point ahead in the Premier League table.
Marmoush has featured in their three opening fixtures, starting two of them, but he's yet to record a goal or assist.
Former Premier League referee David Coote has been charged with making 'category A' indecent video of a child.
Coote is scheduled to appear before Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
It comes almost a year after he was sacked by the PGMOL last December.
He was charged that on January 2, 2020, he made one indecent video of a child of category A.
This is the most serious category and typically shows young children being raped or sexually abused by adults.
A statement from Nottinghamshire Police read: "A suspect is due to appear in court after being charged with making an indecent image of a child.
"David Coote, aged 43, has been charged with the offence after an investigation by Nottinghamshire Police. The charge relates to a video file recovered by officers in February of this year.
"Coote, of Collingham, was charged on 12 August and is currently on conditional police bail. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow 11 September."
Doncaster Rovers have suspended online ticket sales for their Carabao Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur later this month.
Doncaster will travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 24 for the third round clash.
However, the League One club says a number of fake accounts have been created on its ticketing site and it has moved to stop them.
In a statement, the club said: "Due to a volume of fake accounts being created on our ticketing site, online sales have temporarily been suspended for the @SpursOfficial game.
"To purchase your tickets for this game please either call the box office on 01302 762576 or call in person, the box office is open."
The 22-year-old has staked a massive claim on a place in the starting XI in what was his first two appearances for the Three Lions.
Despite being Tuchel's best player, former Scotland star Ally McCoist was not so sure he would start.
He told talkSPORT Breakfast: “I'm not necessarily thinking he would start if England were playing in the World Cup final tomorrow.”
When pushed at why, McCoist added: “Bellingham would certainly come into the team. Would Bellingham come in and play in that number 10 role? I'm not sure.
“Anderson probably does sit and allow Declan Rice when he's sitting in that too, if he wants to get forward. Rice out the two of them and would certainly get forward.
“So he could start. One thing that would definitely happen, Bellingham would come back into the team, that's for sure. But whose place he would take, I'm not so sure.”
Should Bukayo Saka be dropped from the England starting XI when he’s fit? Jamie O’Hara suggested that the Three Lions may be better with his Arsenal teammate starting out wide.
Noni Madueke shined during the international break and scored his first England goal in the 5-0 win over Serbia on Tuesday night.
Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara believes there is a lot to like about Madueke’s direct style of play.
Speaking on The Sports Bar, O’Hara said: “Does he start? I know he's a brilliant football player, but Madueke is very direct.
“I like that at international level, when you've got a player who would just go at you, or run in behind you. Saka likes a ball to feet, and he's brilliant with it.
“I like him and [Anthony] Gordon. It's a lot to like. I like the way they run in behind, I like the way they direct with the ball, that they'll go at players.
“The way they played tonight, I saw a bit of freedom.”
Madueke starred for England over the international break
Marc Guehi has spoken for the first time since his failed move to Liverpool during the summer transfer window.
Guehi had completed a medical and was set to join the reigning Premier League champions before Crystal Palace pulled the plug at the last minute.
Speaking after England's 5-0 win over Serbia in their World Cup qualifier, the centre-back was asked how the last eight days have been.
He replied: "It's been great."
Pushed further on how it was joining up with England immediately after, he added: "It's always easy coming here, we've got such a good group of players, good group of staff. We're working towards one goal, so it's really enjoyable and always good to be here."
Manchester City fans have cause for concern after Omar Marmoush was substituted in pain while playing for Egypt.
The forward was taken down while playing against Burkina Faso in World Cup Qualifying and instantly clutched his knee.
Receiving a ball from captain Mohamed Salah just inside his own half, Marmoush tried to jink into the middle of the pitch to find space and launch an attack.
However, just as he got his foot on the ball for a second touch, in came Mohamed Zougrana to send him crashing to the ground.
Salah went straight over to his Premier League rival who kept holding his knee writhing in pain.
The tackle occurred in the fourth minute of the match, but it took until the ninth for Marmoush to finally leave the pitch, perhaps showing just how much pain he was in.
Jermaine Pennant believes Bayern Munich star Harry Kane would only be the third best striker in the Premier League if he returned to England.
Despite leaving as the second-highest scorer in the competition's history and continuing to find the net at a prolific rate in Germany, Pennant believes Kane would no longer be the best striker in the top-flight.
Asked if the Bayern frontman would hold that distinction if he made a return, the former winger told The Sports Bar: "No, not right now. I would say (Alexander) Isak."
However, co-host Jason Cundy hit back, exclaiming: "You’re Liverpool, you’re unbelievable.
"Three weeks ago, you would never have said Isak. You wouldn’t have. Honestly, you Liverpool fans, because he’s now signed for Liverpool, it’s now Isak."
Pennant responded by explaining: "You're saying, just because Harry Kane over the years in the Premier League, (his) numbers have been fantastic. Golden boots galore.
"But Harry Kane now, right at this minute, not his history, right at this minute is not a better player than Alexander Isak. He’s not better than (Erling) Haaland either."
He continued: "(Isak) is the best number nine in the world. When he’s fit, give him some games, give him some time."
Ange Postecoglou's appointment as the new Nottingham Forest manager gives him the chance to make some instant history.
Sky Bet report that no manager has ever won back-to-back Europa Leagues with different teams.
So, the Australian could easily create some personal history this year.
On that possibility, a Sky Bet spokesperson said: "With Ange Postecoglou taking up the Nottingham Forest job, he’s now got a great chance to go back-to-back in the Europa League.
"We’ve rated his chances of doing this – and breaking history by becoming the first manager to do the double with different sides in successive seasons – at 12/1."
