Bethpage Black has hosted the the US Open twice and most recently, 2019 PGA Championship which was won by Brooks Koepka.

And while Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy certainly have the credentials to test themselves on the course, casual golfers are also afforded the opportunity to play at the Long Island venue.

An 18-hole round on the more difficult Red course will set players back up to $48 and the highest price for a game on the high-level Black course costs a top price of $80.

Those that rock up for a round that are situated out of New York State are charged a premium on the Red and Black courses.

An 18-hole game on the Red costs up to $100 with the Black course coming in at $160.

However, unlike some private clubs, Bethpage does not offer a traditional membership.

How is the course structured?

Bethpage Black will play to a par 70 and a daunting length of 7,459 yards for the upcoming Ryder Cup.

It has narrow fairways with an average of just 26 yards wide bordered by deep rough, plateaued greens and plenty of bunkers.

The course is based on a public facility that is overseen by New York State Parks.

It is ranked 62nd in the world and 27th in the United States making it a reasonably priced one for players.

Bethpage Black is known for its unenviable rough with an offline tee shot likely to land players in thick and wet grass.

Therefore hitting fairways is of prime importance for players both playing casually and at the Ryder Cup.

And the fans seem to enjoy their time at Bethpage Black with the course having gained a reputation for rowdyness.

The passion shown in and around the course could be a significant factor when Team Europe advances across the Atlantic later this month.
