The Packers and the NFL observe a moment of silent reflection following Charlie Kirk’s assassination

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was killed Wednesday during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
The assassination has intensified political unrest, prompting the NFL to respond prior to Thursday Night Football between the Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders at Lambeau Field.
Before kickoff, Amazon Prime Video aired a ‘moment of silent reflection’ from Lambeau Field in honor of Kirk.
"Moments ago inside the stadium, the Packers and the NFL observed a silent reflection following yesterday’s events," host Charissa Thompson said.
"The National Football League asks that you please join us in a moment of silent reflection following the murder of Charlie Kirk," the public address announcer at Lambeau Field said.
"The NFL condemns all violence in our communities. It will take all of us to stop hate. Thank you."

Kirk, 31, was a prominent voice in conservative circles. He often traveled to college campuses, holding open debates with anyone willing to discuss various topics, regardless of whether they agreed with him.
He was the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, a nonprofit organization that promotes conservative politics on high school and college campuses.
On Wednesday evening, hours after his death had been confirmed, the New York Yankees held a moment of silence for Kirk before their game against the Detroit Tigers.
