Game On Tampa, FL Big Hit with Big Results

IOU Sports Empower Girls Engage Women through Business and Sports Panel

Tampa, Fl. April 4, 2015 by Bernell Hooker, Founder and CEO IOU Sports

Empower Girls Engaging Women through Business and Sports was a big hit for IOU Sports during the 2015 NCAA Women’s Final Four in Tampa, Fl.

This Woman lead forum for both current professionals and students interested in the sports industry is designed to educate participants by exposing them to top female leaders in sports and business.  We are very proud of our program that offers a dynamic mix of global and local sport leaders, women advocates for community development and social change, as well as experts in the business of sport.

If you were an organizational leader, Coach or former professional athlete interested in engaging your community in topics relevant to women, Empower Girls Engaging Women through Business and Sports at the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County was the place to be.

The panel were women leaders who customized their expertise and learning experiences to present an engaging, inspiring and actionable platform with open dialog about:

• Professional Athletes transitioning into the workforce and entrepreneurship

• How to get girls active early in age through mentoring and playing.

• Getting parents and teachers involved in developing girl’s interest is sports and careers.

• Teaching girls and women that sports is a business

On behalf of IOU Sports, I want to thank the panel and guest for their energy and ideas, but importantly, for their commitment.  I was in awe of their resourcefulness, creativity and dedication to women sports and wanting to make a difference in the lives of girls.

This was a panel of women who spoke of Action.

Action for change and Action to work together.

This is only the beginning…

Where do we go from here?  Follow these women through social media.  Request for an appearance.  Purchase their books.
